Whole-person whole-care

Many of us today are riddled with confusion about optimum health and happiness. Stress is so prevalent in our world today. Many of us are in transition. As we negotiate the minefield of successful aging, we must contemplate our physical, emotional and social health. It is important to consider choices which have heart and meaning as we learn and grow together. Learning to make new and different choices takes courage and a strong mind. Despite the significant improvements in therapies and advancements in medical technology, more than half of the people in the U.S. now suffer from at least one chronic disease. Many people today are engaging in what we call self-care. I feel this is a perfect antidote for reducing illness and disease and enhancing well being in our lives.

Some foundations of self-care are a healthy diet, customized nutrition, physical activity, relaxation, relationship and community, and contemplation and solitude. How we approach this lifestyle on a daily basis determines the sustainability of our health and healing. Reducing stress is the most important element in our life. We understand today that physical, emotional, and environmental stress is the root cause of mostly all diseases today. In today's chaotic society, it is important to understand a holistic approach to health, healing and stress. We continue to learn and acknowledge the complexity of ingredients which make up our well-being. Through a whole-person whole-care understanding, we can change our health and well-being internally and externally, mentally and emotionally, physically and spiritually. The human spirit is always reaching for reclamation of its own well-being. I would like to invite you into this way of thinking by which you can choose to make this your experience and our reality.

All issues are health issues! The work of creating health and healing is a personal, lifelong, and conscious process that must examine the inner depths as well as realign surface contours. Just like the sign in the window says...Help Wanted, Inquire Within! Learning to slow down and become present and quiet helps us to start this work. Focusing your attention, developing a new intention and going inward move this intention to a new behaviour when one stays with it. This process can begin with a minute of quiet contemplation, reflection and conscious breathing. Smile, go within, and say to yourself "Present-moment – Wonderful-moment" and connect with your smile! Happiness is a choice, but optimum health requires a roadmap of education to engage in self-care. The program YOU create for yourself is the one most likely to succeed for you.

YOU are in the driver's seat, avoid the potholes...

You have the key to your vehicle, your body and you are in the driver's seat. Time to look under the hood and learn about self-care; you must go inward and look deeper. Perhaps it's time to break old patterns and make the needed repair. As our roads continue to get resurfaced (thank you), so also we need to repair our vehicle (body). Understanding whole-person whole-care and self-care concepts requires an understanding of some core concepts.

1. The essence of personal health is holistic. We can choose health creation or health rejecting.

2. Everything you think, feel, say and do affects your life in every moment.

3. The basic building block of health and healing is relationship. To self and others. Forgive.

4. Personal transformation is about making new choices and a practice of honouring them.

5. Leaving your comfort zone is necessary in this endeavour of change.

6. The Present Moment is the only place you can make and manage change from. Be here now!

7. Creating health demands authenticity, commitment, discipline, honesty, integrity, and trust, among other essential traits. Self-care is truly about the development of character. A nicer vehicle runs smoother so let more cars come out today as you drive! Have a beautiful day and smile as you drive your vehicle.

According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 80 percent of all deaths in the industrialized world is from heart disease or cancer. This is 8 out of 10. Science now tells us that as we continue to take more toxic substances into our body through poor diet, pharmaceuticals which increase the toxic burden, as well as poor water and environmental toxicity, we hasten oxidative stress resulting in inflammation and an accelerated aging process. It is time to clean house and reactivate the body's innate healing system. THE INNER HARMONY APPROACH TO OPTIMUM HEALTH educates people on nine steps. As clients at Inner Harmony Wellness Centre, our program examines the following:

  • Diet and nutrition
  • Vitamin supplementation
  • Proper hydration
  • Exercise
  • Overcoming our vices
  • Relaxation/Stress management
  • Meditation
  • Laughter as healing
  • Regeneration

The Five Steps to Great Health are to assure a proper alkaline body ph, support hormone balance, detoxify the body, address immune-specific issues, and to rejuvenate the body's systems.
