Wellness centers are all about encouraging you to take care of you. That doesn’t just mean getting a massage. It means taking care of your body as much as taking care of your mind. Your mind is a powerful tool and too often we don’t know how much our mind effects every part of our body. If you are allowing negative forces to come into your head and bring you down you are not taking care of your mind.
Sometimes getting started is the hardest part of trying anything new. We talk about how we want to take piano classes, or yoga, or we want to start exercising. Meditation techniques for beginners is no different. That’s why inside of stick a beginner into a meditation class that is filled with advanced meditation people is not a good idea. You don’t want a person who is never meditated before to feel overwhelmed and out of sorts. You want to give them the best impression about meditation from the first day that they do it.
It’s okay to take care of you. That’s an important message for retreats for healing. Too often people take care of everyone else but themselves. They don’t want to take time out for themselves, they feel guilty or they feel like they don’t deserve to take time out for themselves. Everyone deserves a break once and awhile and sometimes a vacation doesn’t count as a break. It ends up being a lot of work too even if it’s fun. You still come back from vacation feeling stressed a lot of the time.
